I'm hoping this blog helps us not only support one another in our crazy attempts to defy the aging process, but serves as a way to really connect with each other. We are all in so many different places; both literally and figuratively. My hope is that those things become irrelevant as we discuss our hopes, dreams, set backs and progresses not just with our training, but with life, husbands (both x and future), boyfriends, children, school and work. We are a wonderful, powerful group of women and we need each other. At least I know I need all of you. Just think of all we can accomplish together! I'm so excited!

YES YOU CAN!

When I was training for the Salt Lake marathon...2 YEARS ago....my friend Maren gave me one of those gummi bracelets with "Yes you can" on it. I wore it all the time and have adopted it as my life motto. I remember many a run that my body was saying no you can't an I just kept telling it YES YOU CAN! and It did. So whether its running our first 5, 10, or 18 miler....finishing the laundry AGAIN....not killing your two year old when she throws the 18th tantrum of the day....or trying to not focus on how tired I am (and the fact that I LOOK it)...I just keep telling myself that. And someday I'll cross the finish line. I guess life is not really a race in which we have to win...we just have to finish in the right place. I LOVE YOU GUYS......I am soooo proud of you.
